Tim is a writer, actor and director who grew up in rural Suffolk. After studying History at Balliol College, Oxford, Timothy trained as an actor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and completed an MA in Creative Fiction at Royal Holloway. His plays include Open (co-written with Chris Adams) and The Stars are Brighter Here, which toured East Anglia in 2021. He has also written a number of published short stories, including pieces for the Grist Anthology for New Writing.
His acting work includes Therese Raquin at the Royal National Theatre and appearances in plays at Shakespeare’s Globe, Oxford Playhouse and many others across the UK and Europe. His TV work includes Detectorists (BBC) and Belgravia (Carnival/ITV).
He co-leads the Queer Rural Connections project and has directed and co-produced a documentary on queer rural experiences. The film was selected as part of the BFI Flare Festival and was a Finalist in the British Short Film Awards; it has been screened widely at film festivals and will be available on a streaming service later this year. He is now using the research and interviews to write a non-fiction book about queer people in the countryside.
